Yeah, a princess or queen deciding her own destiny was the exception rather than the rule in those days.

Yeah, if I were in the erstwhile headsman's position, a taste of my own medicine in the traditional manner would be far preferable to Mary's skullcracker move. Heck, I'd even take a dance on the rope!
