Well, that's ominous. What you don't know can hurt you (e.g. Dan avoided being slain by several dragons through sheer dumb luck), but at the same time, taking steps to avoid something can draw attention.
One of these days I need to sit down and do a re-read of the comic, because it's times like these I forget whether this is about something the reader knows about or not.

If Fa'lina and Ary are both on the same page in terms of not telling him about it, the odds that it's something that would put him in physical danger are very low. Emotional danger on the other hand...

It occurred to me since that given the shadowing effects in the middle panel it might be that Aary is developing a big crush on Dan and that like the other cubi who have tried to hit on him in SAIA, he is completely oblivious.
Emotion filters and all...

I haven't paid much attention to the people saying Aary should get with Dan and Matilda but that little sigh does have me thinking that she might actually have developed feelings for him.

Certainly seems plausible at this stage.

I kind of thought about that too.
Though it does surprise me that Fa'lina would bring it up like this. While it has been shown that Fa'lins will willingly but her way into a conversation. But this seems somewhat different then that.
I wonder if Fa'lina has that same problem that phoenixes have, and this is a bit of a warning from Fa'lina that the potential for that decision might be shrinking rapidly.
I hope it's about his daaaaaaaad

That almost fits, but it seems a little weird that Fa'lina would talk about intervening in someone's love life like that. Though I guess Aryanna could have asked for advice offscreen or something.

Maybe but given that Aary is sighing, she looks like she's in love and there's a little heart in the swirls around her i think Fa'Lina is talking her growing feelings towards Dan.
I think they may be not very closely related.
Also I had forgotten about the prince thing, was first revealed in #2077, like 3 years ago now.
I think the withheld information may relate to his dad.
e: Yeah, Aary mentions his dad's adventuring stone may be a decoy, and then Fa'lina a few pages later seems to know more about who his father was last seen speaking to.

Yep, I think that's the piece we were missing. Though it might be something not directly about the incident (E. G. an aspect of Q's clan that would shed light on Q's actions.)
Every couple years I pick a comic to reread from first comic to current. This year I think I'm going to read dmfa. Honestly one of my favorites was when they were storming the castle only to run into a dragon that Dan owed money. I think it was a red dragon but it's been a few years since I've read the comic archives.

Yeah, he was red. I loved Tapewolf's rendition of the tale on the DMFA Radio Project.

Not to be confused with the other red dragon. Or the other other red dragon.
