Yes, I imagine a lot of Dan's memories are going to hit differently in retrospect.

One parent was in disguise because they might be recognised as a porn actor/producer and the other because a frankly staggering number of people would want to kill them.

The first can cause awkward questions ("what exactly do you recognise them from?") the other can cause a body count and dragons.

This actually further explains why Dan was so willing to believe that Dimanika wasn't his mother the first time he saw her: It would have been completely out of character for her to look like herself.

I quipped in stream that Dan was either putting his foot in his mouth again or some other form of being awkward/insightful.

It was both, but in an unexpected way.

I sympathize with Dan very much on this point, because I know that sort of feeling.

That long slow realization that your childhood was not the idyllic happy thing you thought it was is quite a thing to go through.  He's probably got another couple years of realizations like that to go through.

And that's a low estimate.  It might be over a decade to sort all of this out for him.

I see your decade and raise you two.

I like Aaryanna's 'Dan...Nooo...' in the last panel. It's interesting to see her genuinely concerned over his wellbeing given how they first met each other.

I find it hard to argue against that.

It's heartfelt AND hilarious!

I empathise with Dan so much, though I rather wish the trauma-inducers would stop punching me now.  March was HELL.

Someone give him a hug please?

There were plenty of woman who wanted to do that and more (https://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_2079.php), but Dan didn't notice...

Still curious about Dan's potentially contributing to major Cyra-clan growth in the relatively near future, versus a more moderate rate. Once he actually figures out that's an option, the next step is to figure out whether he'd even want to. And while he does know Cyra depends on him to grow the clan, I don't know if he'd be comfortable having multiple partners, even if only to breed. We also don't know how Matilda feels about that, given the "living furniture" status females of her race have back home.

I think that Matilda will be fine with it, as long as she trusts the other person. And I still think that other person could be Aaryanna. She loved Dan's mother, is sympathetic to clan Cyra's plight, is becoming friends with Dan and has already met his grandmother.

I am still rooting for Wildy, honestly. I have zero faith in this arranged marriage actually going through. And just tell me you can't see her crashing at Dan and Matilda's place periodically, and having them do the hard work of raising her spawn (via Dan or otherwise).

I imagined something happening between Dan and Wildy after he got good enough at shapeshifting to change to her size. He would joke flirt, she would mock him, then quietly excuse herself to have a panic attack because She can not be attracted to her best friend

I'll take several squiggly hugs from Mink.

On a more serious note, I hope we here about Mink's parents next.

Dan seems like too much of a romantic/one woman guy, and he's blatantly only got eyes for Matilda.

I think the arranged marriage depends on Wildy's father finding someone who's both strong and smart, so he can stand up to Wildy's willfullness and, if necessary, defend himself from ferret based violence.

>.>  Actually, it would be funnier if Wildy's new husband were a retired adventurer or trainer or something who's also enough of a charmer that he'd actually be liked by Wildy, instead of tolerated.

Wildy has a choice from five so that shouldn't be too much of an issue. As for the polyarmory, I think the most likely (and funniest) possibility is the one that's alluded to here (https://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_1921.php), though I probably wouldn't bet on it.
