Well, at least it seems that Tolas is more concerned about whose roof Regina stays under than about her vocation.  It'll be interesting to see how this unfolds.

Oh good!  Tolas has figured out his father is a horrible person.  No wonder he and Regina get along so well.

It's a shame Tolas is so against Aliph. I get the sense neither of the Darkblood siblings are super smart, and Aliph has smarts in spades. At the very least he'd make a fine ally.

It's a bit sad to me that Aliph's notion of family support is so misunderstood... but I guess with the kind of parenting they've had, it would be foreign. 

It's funny to me that his kindness might indeed turn the siblings against their parents... but more as a side effect than his actual intention.
