This could get awkward. One can be a friend to a trickster and not know... but if the authorities have grounds to suspect they're a trickster they'll assume you are too by association.
Which appears to be the situation here. Question is, what the un-inquisitor will do in this situation. Like the Traipses in Random Encounter, they might end up having to become a trickster before the day is out.
I'm prone to paranoia and double guessing so my main worry is that the not-an-inquisitioner is lying so that they can catch them trying to escape and claim it as evidence. Because that is not an unusual tactic.
