If that action has made the necklace inhospitable for whatever evil thing was inhabiting it, how does that affect its resale value? Is the thing more, or less valuable now?
Will the evil thing be able to return if they repair it later?
If it's literally a spirit in that it's a dead dude, does this mean the Reaper is coming to take them away now their little hidey-hole has been broken?
Let's hope it's a whole dead dude and not, say, a seventh of him.
My money is on it having been an ancient deity kind of thing and the breaking the amulet having ended the threat. Though I imagine in a generally traditional way.
Personally my favorite of possible outcomes would be this returning the occupant to normal life and they become so grateful at being freed that they apologize and render no more harm.

That would be an agreeable outcome, if an unlikely one.
Oh yeah, it's way more likely that breaking it either defeated the occupant or released them and they'll be enraged/evil.
