When some guys don't want the woman they know meeting each other its generally for different reasons.
Off course Dan could immediately wrong foot her by introducing her as " This is Aaryanna, she tried to kill me because she got given a vague prophesy and specialises in breaking up couples. Oh and she was a friend of my mothers."
I feel like people are underestimating Matilda. She picked up that dan was Cubi immediately and initiated flirting and has an idea of the concept and expectation of Cubi. She also is still attracted to parts of her old life in dan and a pack polyamory of sorts is a shared element.
Basically I don't expect her expectations to be betrayed.
Edit: She is hoping for an idealized version of her old ways not the actual memory.
