Dimanika's ascension not being explained is kind of a long-running gag. Amber does it all the time.

Knowing Dimanika? It was probably something well-researched and methodical, just to keep people from figuring out what "wacky" ascension she went through.
Amber has subverted our expectations... because DMFA has always been about family.
