I suspect that one of the suckiest things about being a respawning immortal like that is if you get maimed but not killed. Assuming that Talon isn't just left paralysed or something, a respawn would give Ahmed and Tella more time in the mortal world.
As long as Talon learnt a valuable lesson. When somebody says "look out", don't turn around and look at them.
