I just want to know, as a CastleVania Dungeonite, if this forum can still be considered a CastleVania forum...

You could ad a "I'm just here for DMFA." option.  :P

...done...I can sense an aura of non-CV fan-itus...this could be bad...

i know of a mod here that isn't much of a fan of me so i hope he doesn't get angry about it...here it go...

I can clear it up for you right now.  It's not a Castlevania forum, and was intended as such for maybe, like, three days.

It was mostly intended for CV RPG/DSWC/General/some Video Game discussion.

RSU, ICVD, and CVR really had pretty decent Video Game sections, so we saw no need to be redundant.

Slayer- that doesn't mean that we don't encourage discussion in all the forums (including Video Games- that's why it's there).  It's just not a "Castlevania" forum.  Besides, there are many other fun video games out there to talk about too. ;)

Oh, speaking of which, to answer Slayer's question, which I think was already answered but I don't remember and am too lazy to check: Yes and no. I mean, the people in the forum don't change how the forum works itself. While the people here either don't know of castlevania or aren't castlevania nuts, that doesn't mean this forum has changed. The forum that originally belonged here is still here, with a new pal. The VG threads are being populated by a better variety of posts, but that also doesn't mean you can't post CV stuff. The poll's good for curiosity but doesn't do well to explain the state of the forum.

It does well to state my interests in it.

I am neither of those, and I've fair-and-square beaten (exception of the occasional map-glance from GameFAQs, because my memory of where every single item is is not, like, miraculous) SotN twice in "Alucard" mode now.

Sword Familiar ftw. Attack power of 149 >:3 I beat it once over the span of a three-day weekend, and regularly listen to the soundtrack from Symphony. If it wasn't for the personal value of it (it is one of those CDs that one treasures almost as much as one's Deus Ex CD), I'd almost be inclined to see how much I could sell it for. ;)

If this forum supposedly has nothing to do with Castlevania, then...

1. Why is it still directly linked as the forum for The Inverted CASTLEVANIA Dungeon? // Misleading.

2. Why are there a ton of CASTLEVNIA graphics (not CVRPG) used the the layout?

3. The site this is on has detailed info about every CASTLEVANIA game to come out.

I don't see any details about this "furry" stuff anywhere except this forum.

I think ICVD should either link the forum button to the REAL ICVD forums, or simply move on with life.

The fact that CastleVania be almost rid of altogether in favor of an almost completely different forum gernre altogether.   If you were to have asked me a year ago if this forum would become a furry funhouse, I would have laughed my ass off...

To answer questions:

It is designed as such because Darkmoon wanted it that way.  There is a DMFA and CV RPG skin available as well.

It is linked as such because Darkmoon wanted it to be.  This is the official discussion forum of CV RPG and DSWC- both of which are major sections of the ICVD:The Site.  Additioanlly, it does have a video game forum, which, in case you were confused, includes Castlevania as a potential topic. 

If the posting ever necessitated it, a Castlevania-only section would be made.  However, with the limited frequency of Castlevania posts (and quite frankly, any VG posts) prior to the merger, there was no need to seperate them into two forums. 

Posters are always welcome to ask the mods to add a section, and we will take a look at the posting or poster interests to see if there is a necessity.  That's how the Art forum got started.

Outside of the DMFA and Art forum, I don't see a lot of "this furry stuff" in converstation.  Yeah, they may have "furry" sigs and avatars, but most of the time they act like the normal, well-adjusted people that they are.  So I'm not exactly sure what the problem is here.

And Slayer- we're not going into the "who said what" "who hates who" "who thinks who is evil" of the whole Castlevania Site/Forum family.  It frankly doesn't matter.  We're here, they're there, some people come to both, and that's that.

I play it every so often. My brothers always manage to snag the latest one to come out for the gameboy. They even rented the PS2 version, but were quick to return it to the blockbuster. I can say I am looking forward to the next one.

Well, aside from the fact that a Castlevania site links to a non-Castlevania forum. Just keep the CMF link on the CM Site, it's annoying talking to other dungeonites that think this forum is the real ICVD because they stumbled upon here from the inverteddungeon.com website and then bitch about all the furry/anthro fans. You don't want Castlevania people coming here and trashing the comic forum, then that's the measure you'll have to take.

As far as Darkmoon is concerned, this is the real Inverted Dungeon Forum. 

It's where he wants people to go to discuss information found on his site.  That's his perogative.  Unfortunately, since he owns the domain name, it's something people will just have to live with and adapt to.

Additionally, unless Castlevania has become a bizarre game done though only interpretive dance, I don't think anyone is stopping people from talking about it.

I will, however, have to draw the line at interpretive dance.

I voted 'I'll play them occasionally', although I have played through SotN a good number of times, as well as beating AoS and Chronicles once each. I guess that doesn't exactly make me a hardcore CV-fan, but I still love the games (the Metroid-like ones in particular).

I play castlevania 24 hours a day. I don't even pause to do the "3 S's!" But the only castlevania game i've ever played was the Sypmony of the Night LCD handheld from Tiger Electronics. That counts right?
