Yeah, I am an European. So plz explain what these gay American ratings mean?
"R" Stands for ReachAround, but I don't know what that means.
"PG" Stands for PenileGoo, but I don't see how that applies here.
"NC-17" Stands for Nacho Cheese on a 17-year-old, but that's just weird.
I am so confocalused!
Very weird system! But I guess I will have to abide to that.
How is ass porn rated? PenileGoo?
Dammit, New Guy. Quit being stupid. That's not what they stand for.
PG - Parental Guidance (Or something like that.)
R - Restricted
NC-17 - No one 17 and under admitted.
Edit: And 'Ass porn' would probably be rated R or NC-17. >> I think.

Previous answer to the question:
3) To answer the questions on the actual ratings (taken from filmratings.com):
Rated G—General audiences
All ages admitted.
This signifies that the film rated contains nothing most parents will consider offensive for even their youngest children to see or hear. Nudity, sex scenes, and scenes of drug use are absent; violence is minimal; snippets of dialogue may go beyond polite conversation but do not go beyond common everyday expressions.
Rated PG—Parental guidance suggested
Some material may not be suitable for children.
Parental Guidance Suggested. Some material may not be suitable for children. This signifies that the film rated may contain some material parents might not like to expose to their young children - material that will clearly need to be examined or inquired about before children are allowed to attend the film. Explicit sex scenes and scenes of drug use are absent; nudity, if present, is seen only briefly, horror and violence do not exceed moderate levels.
Rated PG-13—Parents strongly cautioned
Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13.
Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. This signifies that the film rated may be inappropriate for pre-teens. Parents should be especially careful about letting their younger children attend. Rough or persistent violence is absent; sexually-oriented nudity is generally absent; some scenes of drug use may be seen; one use of the harsher sexually derived words may be heard.
Rated R—Restricted
Under 17 requires accompanying parent or legal guardian.
Restricted-Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian (age varies in some locations). This signifies that the rating board has concluded that the film rated contains some adult material. Parents are urged to learn more about the film before taking their children to see it. An R may be assigned due to, among other things, a film's use of language, theme, violence, sex or its portrayal of drug use.
Rated NC-17
No one 17 and under admitted. Also called Youth Restricted Viewing.
No One 17 and Under Admitted. This signifies that the rating board believes that most American parents would feel that the film is patently adult and that children age 17 and under should not be admitted to it. The film may contain explicit sex scenes, an accumulation of sexually-oriented language, or scenes of excessive violence. The NC-17 designation does not, however, signify that the rated film is obscene or pornographic.

Ok new questions, what do
Parental Guidance & Restricted mean?
Edit: Ok
Why cant't you people just use our brilliant system, to actually put the ages the section is for: like 13+, 18+ / all ages etc.?
Edit2: Hey waitamminute! Where is the X-rated area! >:|

The American system leaves more space for actual maturity than a system that goes just by age.

How is that? All those letters have age limits behind them. Aka the agelimits are encrypted for some reason.
We are not going to sit here and argue about the rating system. All of the other international members have appeared to adjust. You are an intelligent person, and I expect no less from you.
And the X rated section is in the same place the G rated section is. We don't have either.

Oh I wasn't arguing. I was just stating, how more confusing your system is in the days of globalization compared to e.g. ours.

Confusing; possibly, but definatly more flexable. The age things are loosely enforced; the only restriction is that you gotta show ID if you want into anything R-rated or more without a guardian. Everything else is fair game.
I belive the X rated rating is AO=Adults Only now and forever
Am I the only one who read the thread title "Tha F Prime of all these..."?
Yes. :-)
Stupid weekly calc quizzes.
Now that I've seen the American system, I must say that it appears to be rather splendid (info: I am also European). Flexibility and trust in the people are features I generally applaud in systems such as these. Over here, things are much more rigid with regard to age limits and restrictions - some steps have been made in relaxing it recently, but there's still much less freedom of choice than this system. But it doesn't go far enough! Get rid of NC-17 and it'll be perfect :U
I can't even remember a movie that actually used NC-17. We've been cracking down the selling of Mature games to kids over here, though. Plus I think GTA: SA has been the only game to get a Adults Only rating after they found that mod in the Xbox version.
Once every few years, some artsy-fartsy NC-17 movie comes out. Generally, it gets called out as what it is: pretentious.
That's it! I've had it with this muthaf'ing rating in this muthaf'ing thread!
*giggle* Sorry, I couldn't resist... :-)
Mana: There have been other AO games but they're never distributed through normal retail channels as most stores refuse to carry them.
The Australian ratings system is a lot different, as well, our classifications board is very... well... strict. Currently, Australia doesn't have a rating above MA 15+; meaning that any game above that is pretty much automatically banned.
It's not just games with amounts of high violence and/or nudity. A lot of games get banned based on the weirdest stuff, like one game recently being banned for being centred around graffiti.
As well, the chances of having a game reconsidered is extremely low as the board meets only about once a month, and then every single one of the members has to vote in its favour. And the board is made up of a lot of conservatives... :/

Wait, you think "Ass Porn" would probably be rated R, and you're calling me stupid?
Kids these days.
I'm gonna go donkey-punch my girlfriend (rated X).
new guy (AKA Think Tank): Shut up or go away. Being an idiot is against the rules. Be smarter. You were probably capable of it at one point.
Well, this whole thread is obviously a joke, so I don't see what the problem with having a little fun with it is.
Have you never seen Paavo's threads before?
Quite frankly, I don't care. Obviously, knowing Paavo, you are familiar with the other Castlevania forums. Let me make one thing clear- we are not them. Overwhelmingly, the mods here are not amused by asshatery.
Or racism. Or trolling by any stretch of the word. It's so very unfortunate that we aren't like those forums, eh? :0

The only version of BMX XXX I'm aware of was clothed. I feel ripped off.
You do know what the odd thing about that game was...I think some the people in that game were AB/DL.....I dare anyone figure that out sides...Most that game was sooo mellow and shallow
ASSHAT+TERY FTW!
Hay how did dat bloke knuw U was Thinks? :mowcookie
Paavo, you might want to take a moment to read over the rules, so that your next ban doesn't occur on the same day the last one was lifted.
wow, Dama is on fire! :S
behave Paavo! :B stop being annoying! be cool! hey did you see that movie ''be cool'' ???? :> Uma was amazing there... :) amazing gorgeous...
ps: sorry for going off topic...trying to save paavo life! :U
I was pretty disappointed in Be Cool. I mean, it wasn't the worst sequel I've ever seen, but it was nowhere near as good as Get Shorty. It made me sad, because I really loved the characters.
I did, however, really like the Rock in it. He was very believable.
and that dance scene is awesome...the song it is called Sexy...artist i don't know...

Actually that one was M-rated, though they may have released an AO version through other channels. Leisure Suit Larry also did that: an M rated version for stores and an AO version available online.
About the only thing that can net a game an AO rating is a shown explicit sex scene (read: Hot Coffee). Anything short of that almost always gets an M.
All that being said, all the reviews I saw of BMX XXX were terrible. They tried to make a bad game sell more copies by showing some nipples. Didn't really work, the company that published the game (Acclaim) still went out of business.
