Yeah... I see no difference either.
Well.... there is slightly more fruit in her clothing than normal. :mowwink

Remember, folks, we didn't get to see her big dance number.
That might have helped us to tell a difference...or at least have a really good time trying to spot one. I'm having some serious Carmen Miranda flashbacks here, and I can definitely picture Mab doing some version of one of those manic boom-chica-chicky-chicky-boom routines.
Why would Mab need a free ride home? Oh, wait, catnip.
Also, hope that you get to read your favorite comics soon, Amber! A happy Amber is a productive Amber!

Well, that explains why Mab hasn't been involved in this chapter, until now.
Ah, how to break it to her gently that Dan went out, got in a fight, and was brought back injured.
And if Dan's dream was correct on this detail, Mab was involved in the fracas with Regina six years ago.

I thought Mab's ears were different for a second thar, but I think it's just that her hair is in the hat or something. Is cute, though.
Mab on catnip doesn't really seem any different to usual....... Dan, maybe just more chilled out, if that's possible
........what'd happen if it were the other feline members of the cast? Like Alexsi? or Merlitz? or, possibly most disturbingly, Abel?
I think what hapend was she got catnip and had a "trip" as in it wasn't real it was all in her head and she just came out of it.

I was just thinking of the Amber book by Zelazny where one of the characters was given a hallucinogen. Unfortunately, what the lords of Amber hallucinated became real. So it doesn't matter if Mab went on a trip and it doesn't matter what Mab looks like. What matters is what the island looks like at the moment.

I fĂșcking love DMFA. I think a QFTR strip is as good a time as any to say it, but for longer than a determined fat man's diet this webcomic has been bringing me a near-daily injection of enjoyment (the first strip I read was the Dr. Ink At SAIA 'push your buttons one'). Somewhat awkwardly, then, that means that DMFA holds a better record than masturbation.

You know, recently from using the DMFA dialogue searcher (http://www.littlelevers.com/dmfa/dmfasearch.php), I discovered that Amber appears in close to 1 in every 5 DMFA comics. When I noticed this soon after the 1000th comic, she had popped up in 190 comics. I figured we were about due for another appearance.

Apropos of nothing (don't mean to threadjack), but this post made me revisit my own comic collection and dig out the original TMNT books. While that was a fun bit of nostalgia, it fired another lightbulb in the cobwebbed recesses of my brain, which sent me to another bookshelf, and ... I can't believe I actually kept it.

Oddly, the Amber books were the first thing I thought of too, considering Mab is basically a being of pure magic -- if a Fey has any real limits, nobody has ever been brave/stupid enough to really want to find them (unless one could manage to be at least a couple of universes away at the time).

Obviously, they've migrated south for the winter.
I could have swore they migrated North to more sparsely populated areas...
As you can see, Dan on catnip just takes his high-heel needs to a whole nother level. If you notice, the inquirer asked about Mab and Dan. We 'see' Mab and Alexsi. Either Dan turned into Alexsi, or, Mab turned into Alexsi and Dan turned into Mab, which makes sense cause Dan should be the only one who needs help getting home(Fi met some Mab brownies).

I don't know. But someone of Destania's age doesn't need to breathe, let alone eat or drink, so she's clearly not running on normal organic principles. It therefore stands to reason that toxins which affect organic lifeforms are likely to have a reduced effect.
Think of 'Cubi as being hybrid organic/magical.

You're going by our normal biological rules, Cubi would operate on a completely different level, all in all Cubi would convert what they feed on to what they need to survive.

That may be how it works. Either way, Amber has stated that 'Cubi transition from biology to magic. Whether that means that someone of Destania's age is able to get drunk/high/dead from organic toxins is something only Amber knows. Like I say, my guess is that they lose effectiveness over the centuries. (If so, Dee may need to empty the cupboard in order to get tipsy).

The claws and teeth are assuming that they haven't been enhanced (which given the age and power of dragons seems unlikely), the breath weapon may or may not be magical in nature (the Demonology 101 entry (http://www.missmab.com/Demo/dragon.php) implies that at least some are), and dragons have a lot of magic of their own along with tens or hundreds of millenia (57,822 is very young for a dragon) of practice using it. All in all I would say that at least for the more powerful dragons (eg Hizell) their attacks don't count as "normal means".
