If, like a sufficiently powerful 'Cubi, he doesn't need to breathe, he might not have been entirely dead when he was buried. On the other hand, the IOU suggests that he was dug up and revived somehow by someone else.
Either way, I love Bigg's reaction in the last frame.
Now that's what I call a plot twist! Good, clean and subtle. With one panel, the whole new side quest is born; with a class-A joke, no less.

It's slightly ambiguous, but my reading was that Biggs wants DP out of the way, not that he's sending Dan to him as a contractor.
If Dan asks asks for Amazon warriors, he might get his sister (http://www.missmab.com/Cast/alexsi.php). I have a feeling that Dan would find that really depressing.
I also wonder if Biggs could have engineered the leak of information that he knew the location of Destania so that he could arrange the situation.

Dan's friends and family are often more dangerous to him then his enemies. case in point Wily San branded him, Mab has flattened him on multiple occasions and has let her fire drake Friend use him as a chew toy. jyrras can sic his sisters on him oh and all the tech attach still. Dan i mow you and some junk.
As far as the idea of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend goes", Talleyrand probably had it more accurate when he stated that great powers had no friends, only common interests.
