Well, that's a solution.
And luckily for Abel, a solution that they would probably understand about, what with the whole not believing Merlitz about the human thing.
On a side note, I believe we see the Amazon archer Skirmish in the background of the last panel. Do I guess right?
An Amazon in Lost Lake while Dan's still here...waitaminute... :3
KERPOW! And down for the count people!
And here I was, betting on the 'yoink' maneuver.
Although, Abel's solution is smashingly well done here, eh?
Wow, I don't think anyone saw that one coming... :aack
Hey, I guess they really do have mind shields. Was that mentioned specifically because of the conversation in the last topic? :U
Abel's lucky he did have issues with them on the past
at least it wasn't a de-pantsu
*snerks* Great response, Abel! And lucky for you, you actually got it right. It's a legitimate response.
Here's a funny one. Alexsi's mother was an Amazon. Maybe Skirmish knows Alexsi or her mother. That would really put Dan on the spot.

I'm more interested on Dan's reaction to her, and then realizing he's stuck as a girl for the moment
HEADSHOT![/i]
:P
Yup. That's Merlitz :D
And seamless to if he was really there.
So... mind shields, eh? I guess they need them for the line of work they are in.

The question is, is it one they'd expect from Abel?
mmmmm... yeah. I think so. :-)

I was thinking that last comic. :eager The reporter's reaction will be interesting too (to Danielle's reaction, that is).

I'd be more interested on seeing Alexsi's reaction to the reporter's reaction to Dan's reaction, than the reporter's...
I don't think Alexsi would be happy to see the article calling her a lesbian >:3
Well... this looks well so far. Makes me kind of wonder how long this will pan out for Able. Five seconds? Five minutes? Hours? Will he be forced to completely and totally assume Merlitz's identity for the duration of a small adventure? If so I certainly hope his fire magic is up to date.
My imaginary two cents? Merlitz will probably come running though the door right when they are almost in the clear, having remembered about the whole tour thing, and realizing that even having half the world between him and Alex wouldn't keep him safe from her wrath.
Is it just me, or does Abelitz look off-model in panel 2?
Doesn't look like Merlitz's model, doesn't look like Abel's model. Face is a little too short (edit: make that too long).
Not criticizing. Just, y'know, saying.
You know, with Abel's luck so far, chances are he MAY be able to escape by way of the guy he just so rudely punched apologizing for something that Abel doesn't know happened to Merlitz at one point... Sometimes flying blind can have its advantages. But after that it'll be tough sailing, only being able to go by what they tell him about their past as part of conversation...
"OMG! He's still angry about that time when we kicked him out of our Gay little club, He must be Merlitz! how you doing buddy?"
Notes on the comic...
1. I saw this coming.
2. The real Merl would have probably done the same thing given the circumstances... only with a fireball and a nutcracker.
3.Abel is not the exclusive owner of the sucker punch...in any universe.
*Charline blinks* My word... Is Abel actually dumber than Charles? He, at least, would have the sense not to strike a perfect stranger! Poor Dan. This will likely become an all-out brawl and it'll be all Abel's fault... he should have let Pyro stay. :3
Yay! I love the sucker punch!

Wow. That was weird. I can never really expect what Amber will do next. It's very crazy. I also think there's a possibility that the comcis are sometimes based off of NOT doing what people say in the forum.
It's a proven fact that sucker-punches are the quickest way to break the ice (or a jaw) in a conversation. I can see Abel doing that though...he'd naturally feel really out of place in a situation like that.
There are non vio;lent ways to circumvent detection, Abel could have just read the guy's noggin to say the right things...
...but where is the comedy in that?
He couldn't read it, he said so himself. mind shields.
*re-reads*
So I see.
Whats everyone complaining about Abels just staying in charactor.
sides merlits has reason to be angery
So when was Sucker Punch part 1? Back in Guys' Night Out With Wildy? :mowninja
Indeed, unless he got in a two hit combo when we weren't looking.
It seems so a good moment to look back and slack off now! *whipsers in Ambers ear*

Ah, danke.
I can't say I'm entirely surprised, and as others have said, he may have hit on the right strategy by accident, since the real Merlitz may still have a grudge. It's going to get a bit awkward if/when they do meet the real one, though.
If the reporter turns up he might be able to get away with saying they're troublemakers and he's throwing them out.
( I note Amber hasn't credited the cameos :P )
We totally need W.W.M.D. ("What Would Merlitz Do?") bracelets. They'd go well together with this shirt (http://www.zestuff.com/tshirts/generic/5/) :D
And this might actually be seen as some sort of male bonding (Yes, I know I had this theory during the last suckerpunch, too. But these are adventurers :P). Or, as many have said already, it's just the way Merlitz would react to them, thanks to being sent on a forced vacation.

The link is not working. I love the Sucker punch I was laughing my ass off. Merlitz should do something for these anger issues. All hell I love Merlitz just the way he is * :boogie to Rockstar by Cypress Hill* I love the violent aspect of this and so the destruction amd mayhem begins.

*Charline hmphs* I don't solve every little thing with violence! Sometimes I use sexxors... ;) At any rate, it's always a good idea to at least take a little time to see what you can get out of the target before deciding whether or not a beating is in order. If you start out with pummeling, you tend to lose the ability to bargain, contrive, and connive. Always manipulate the mark first, get as much money/info out of them as possible, then slaughter them in a lonely wood where no one will find the pool of blood. >:3

Bah! Why leave blood at all? Than again, I feed differently than most you people. :mowcookie As for the sucker punch; Yeah, Abel may have hit on the proper thing all along. 'I can see you are still angry we forced you on vacation after seeing a human.' "I saw WHAT!? I mean, yeah! Dang skippy I'm still angry!" :erk

Yes, it is. I just tested it with Firefox, Safari and Mac-IE (*shudder*). It works.
If you somehow get different results, just go to "zestuff.com -> T-Shirts -> Generic Shirts -> *scroll down to last shirt*"
Or, if that's too complicated, just click here (http://www.youkai.de/5_i.jpg) to see the shirt's preview image.
Okay nobody panic...I mean it..Im sure theres all good reason with a slug in the face
That's it... Abel and Merlits are twins seperated by 300+ years.
I must say for someone who perfers non violent means Abel has become a quick master of the "Sucker-Punch."
Oh and with the violence solves everything.
I perfer FIRE.
Fire fixes ALL problems. If fire didn't fix it at first your not applying enough flames and heat.
Which is a reason why I like Dan and Merlitz. Dan because his quote is "well what do you know, it CAN be set on fire." and Merlitz because he's SIR fire magic.

Maybe he didn't believe Merlitz of seeing a human and throwing him out from the group. Oh yeah he has the anger building up to that point and Abel let loose a sucker punch *KERPOW*.
If Being mind-shields are typically run by mental obfuscation, would the surprise punch be enough to allow Abel to breach them?

I was thinking it was this one:
http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_576.php
Which is how Abel's only real encounter with Merlitz started. Also, the pose is exactly the same. :mowcookie
edit: Hmm, actually, not exactly the same. Just the 'they sort of look like they're levitating' bit I guess.
I think that's how Abel would have acted if he was Merlitz. And thus the sucker punch :mwaha :mwaha :mwaha
Sucker Punch #1, I believe, was Wildy's retaliatory strike against Abel...I could be wrong though.
Well that is one way to solve the problem ... for a moment at least.
And my there definatly is a lot of possibilities for sucker punches. :mowwink Only one says 'sucker punch' so I'll go with that one.

Part 1 was when he sucker-punched Pyro with the "trust" trick. I forget which number it was.
The second one is obviously the only other one that goes "SUCKER PUNCH'D" and both are by abel, straight out of nowhere.
it'd be number 686, as linked by Reese Tora, in the second post on this very page.
