Pagan actually brought up an interesting - if somewhat weird - theory a few nights ago on MSN: what if Devin's father was a disguised Aniz? We talked about it, and the thing that kind of kept us from killing the theory is that the offspring of a Being and Cubi might not necessarily take after their Cubi heritage, or so far as we recalled. Devin wouldn't have take after his Cubi heritage, so why would Aniz bother hanging around? He leaves, moves to another town, kills Cid, takes his place, and fathers Abel. I mean, it would be a pretty big coincidence, but it is intriguing. Then again, Devin and Abel were nearly the same age, and in completely different towns, and the only reason they met is because Devin was sent to live with his relatives...

I kinda beg to differ. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kangaroo_rat) At least on the kangaroo rat portion of yellow. Their fur looks like it ranges from pale to brown, with sandy yellow. It's just hard to blend fur colors when you're actually drawing it, methink. :B
The coloration theory is interesting though. Beings have a family tree right there in their appearance if they don't dye it off. :P
I'm going to agree with Aisha on this one. I'd say Jy is only yellow because making his fur any other color would have been a pain, and considering when he was introduced, it might have been beyond Amber's skill at the time. The average pureblood being will be of a natural color, this does not mean that every single pureblood being will be naturally colored, only that, on average, if i choose a random pureblood being, more often than not it will have a more natural coloration.
Also remembering that "Natural Colors" can be interpreted fairly loosely and there's plenty of wiggle room for slightly odd colored beings, like Jyrass and Biggs.

Well... now that that's done with.... I have to say the Being side of things to me seems to be the most interesting of the species. For a race that's only 'power' is in it's numbers they've done incredibly well in not being exterminated by the ones that have some rather incredible powers and in many cases the will to use them.

Anyway, I think beings have managed to fair as well as they have thanks to adventurers. From what I have seen so far, they put out the most adventurers, and adventurers, despite their rather erratic lifespans, are something like shock troops. They inflict a LOT of damage before they go down, and if they don't go down, they usually come back with a lot of nice loot that would give the being's economy a nice boost. Just my thoughts.

Actually, now that I think about it....
Take a look at panel 3 in panel 366 (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_366.php)
Then take a look at Biggs's profile (http://www.missmab.com/Cast/biggs.php)
They certainly have similar hair styles, and the bandanna is there in both pictures too.
I also noticed similarities in the position of the necklace, more info in strip 865 (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_865.php).
Hair, check, bandanna, check, necklace, possibly checked, there are some white specks in the picture in 366-3 around where the necklace should be. I also noticed that compared to the others, there is more table showing on part 3, possibly indicating a lower height.

Don't believe me? look here (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_479.php). If Biggs isn't a Creature of some sort, why is he on the Creature council? (I'm assuming that the juxtaposition Kria uses implies that Biggs is on the Creature Council.)
Or perhaps the Creature Council has a token Being on it. If he does have a bit of creature ancestry, I think it's very little, as only his hair is a non-standard color while his fur is normal.
Yet if that is Biggs as a token being, why would he be worried about Jyrras starting a technological revolution against "us"? The technology would even the odds for Beings...........
