"Pod puppy"? Suddenly it makes sense! :U

Wow, a plant Mythos...that's quite awesome XD

EDIT: Oh, and...crap. DP is getting a fireball ready...this does not bode well for any plant based creatures :-/

DP is a mysogynist? dang, i never would have pegged him as such.

what with originally planning to use azlan in his plans and all, i thought him more an equal-rights villian.

Depends how intense it is.  Green plants can be difficult to burn owing to all the water.

Well Fi long said she was Mythos (Which was odd as Dan hadn't mentioned it) but hey now we know why she got called Pod Puppy.

Females are very dangerous when angered, please remember to bring a hardhat and an escape route planned at all times.

A Chimera! Fire up the flamers! Power up the railguns!!. D:<  ..Oh, wait, that's a Mythos. False alarm. :3 And since I did not post in several previous threads, I want to mention that Darth Pegasus is now one of my favourite characters (despite him turning Cuddles into a pile of ash). Right now he almost looks like a competent villain.

Well... I don't know about bar-b-qued salad.  I get the strange feeling it wouldn't taste as good.  Tossed salad, maybe but bar-b-qued...

Yeah, I think the pod puppy is about to meet a similar fate to her dear sister Hannah.  If that is the case... I'm worried for Shanna as well.  If both of those come to pass.. I'm worried for DP.  Heroes don't like seeing friends (new or not) killed like that.  For some reason it gets them all righteous and wanting to avenge their friends death.

If were that as well, he would be too awesome for even Dan to beat.

worth noting, it appears he dropped an adventurer in front of him and changed his focus to the mythos in hand. sounds like a drop of guard >:3

also, plants that are able to move are in general much harder to burn because they're filled with water that allows them to move.

I, too, am concerned for Shanna at this point. After all, DP likely won't be intimidated by her size if she's still in her huge (and still awesome) form. In addition, she may have no more clothing to sacrifice for victory. Maybe Dan can give her the dress so that she can then immediately "donate" it to claim the win.

Just saying.. :)

*Charline hiss*  Ok, now I don't like DP at all!  That wisecrack about emotions being for females... sexist bastard... I'LL SHOW YOU EMOTION!!!  *attacks with the savagery she regularly uses on Charles!*   >:O

*Charles oooos*  DP doesn't stand a chance!  I should know!   :.   This also makes me wonder if he'd make that same remark in the presence of a certain emotion-prone pink poodle... who's much older and more powerful than he is!  DP is much too arrogant... which is why the proceeding Star Wars-based scene fits perfectly!

Dan:  Your overconfidence is your weakness.

DP:  Your faith in your friends is yours!  It was I who allowed them to enter my castle!  It is perfectly safe from your pathetic little adventurer band.  An entire legion of my best Death Knights awaits them!  I'm afraid the magical defense field will be quite operational when your friends arrive.  Yes... I can feel your anger... use your Cubi powers and strike me down and your journey toward the Dark Side will be complete!

dragon sushi has to be buried in the ground for six months for the toxins to leech out, after which it has a very soft texture and it is recommended you wash it in strong wine

Also, DP doesn't seem like the misogynistic type to me. Just disillusioned, and probably the type to hate everyone equally. Although he hates Undead most of all :B

Enough with the Gundam references!

Allow me to reveal my exact thought when I saw the last panel: Hoshit!
Here we see DP trying to avoid unnecessarily killing people: he has officially climbed yet another rung on the ladder of awesome. And gods above and below, DP actually dropped Dan! I know it sounds silly, but that just makes him look so much cooler.

Am I the only one who noticed that Dark Pegasus, when he said females, was referring to Anna... and not Dan?

He referred to Dan as a young child... and then to Anna as a female.

Then again, being 750 years old, DP has probably seen it all.

EDIT: And I might just be reading too much into DP's little monologue here.

DP seems like one of those "Nice-guys-once-you-get-to-know-them-just-has-the-tendency-to-do-evil-things" kinda guys.

I had the same thought. I think he's known Dan was a male ever since he stood up from the "pile of girls" (or at least since the lights came back on). I wonder if he also realizes Dan's a "baby" cubi?

My what big claws you have Anna! And so many of them! Pod  Puppy indeed -- probably a very accurate description of her "birth".

Technically speaking if she dies, she will become  unread and therefore the scorn of Dark Pegasus.  So the true question really is will DP  just rough her up near death or just decintigrate her right there?

I'm betting Dan is going to take a leaf out of Dark Peg's  book and stabz0r him in the middle of a sentence with some sword he magically pulls out from wherever he keeps the cards again.

Whether this is before or after something bad happens to Anna... hmmm.  But then, maybe Dan will jump in front of the fireball to save her!  After all, his robe is magically enchanted against, well, magic - so he'd survive.  :)

Podsy's gonna burn, burn all night. Come 'round the fiery corpse, bring the smores. Podsy's gonna burn, burn all night.

How DP's mind works:

Undead Rabbit thinks I'm hunting down Undead.
Undead Rabbit, if let to live, will tell other Undead where I am to warn them.
Other Undead will use this information to try to kill me.
Undead Rabbit must die to protect the secrecy of my location.

Also:

Plant Dog was Amazon Sister of Undead Rabbit.
I just killed Undead Rabbit.
Plant Dog wants revenge, and will not relent.
Plant Dog must die so I can get some peace around here.

Yeah, you have to complete both the fluffy tail and missing leg sidequests before getting captured by the death knight, or you can't save Hannah from Dark Pegasus, and therefore can't get to the secret level at the end.

But hey, it's Dan's first adventure, you can't expect him to get the Good Ending.

Am I the only one who noticed that Dark Pegasus, when he said females, was referring to Anna... and not Dan?

I noticed that, too.  Wonder if DP saw through Dan's "disguise".
Isn't there a rule in the Evil Overlord List about being smarter than your minions?

Just wait till he realizes that fact and the fact Dan was the guy who killed him last time. Then it will hit the fan.

Dan is telling Fi the story of his first adventure right out of adventuring school -- this is all a flashback to the *first* time Dan ever met Dark Pegasus.

I must say a plant inspired Mythos is an intresting touch.
Would be more intresting if she is in fact fire proof.

"The wood of the redwood tree is amazingly resistant to fire and rot..." so there is precedence for fire resistance among plants.

I still say that the heat may be so great that natural resistance would fail.

     8)  Dark Pegasus should be more careful about what, and who, he speaks about. And where is the fabled Spork ?

a mythos. a plant mythos. we've kind of been over this.

also dan has hit puberty by this point. to assume that the minute he opens his mouth he DOESN'T give himself away is rediculous. everyone probably just thinks he's a cross dresser.

Well.. There is one thing that we know.  When this is all over, Dark Pegasus will be planted in the ground, and Dan's friends will be green with envy over his success on his first adventure.

In the second encounter with DP. This is the first. There is no spork.

*preemptively shotguns Keanu Reeves before he can mention that he knows kung fu*

I wonder if Dan knows it (kung-fu, I mean). He should try to tackle Darth Pegasus while he is distracted. Then again, considering that Darth P is much bigger than Dan, tackling him might be useless..

actually, no there is not, however it does suggest making sure that stupid minions are rare, and you utilize their stupidity by filling them with misinformation and allowing them to be caught so they can blurt out the exact opposite of what your plans are.

Right now he is awesome enough to be called Darth Pegasus. Once he fails, I'll go back to calling him Dark Pimp.

If Amber wanted him to be a Darth, she would have named him Darth to begin with.

She didn't.
