YAAAAAY!  Aryanna!  One of my favorite characters.  ^__^

But I do like a lot of them... I wonder if Deathbringer and Fa'Lina will show up as potential dates? <.<;

As for snow... if Amber's lucky, it might melt off.  We got some here a couple of weeks ago that melted within hours.  But the temperature has dropped since then... if any falls soon, it'll be sticking around.

Way too funny. Best Perfect Date yet.

Now, the only question is... is that the Good End or the Bad End?

Or both?

Actually, it's Gee.  Note the flower in the hair.  Which makes me wonder why it's not Pai Gon, since Pai Gon is the panda for the comic.

And I'm yet another person who would've chosen "Woohoo!"

Edit: Also, Aaryanna currently has the highest number of hearts of anyone.  And she is one of two to have that bar thing completely on the smiley face.  Although the border around her smiley is much, much bigger.

I'm going to speculate it's Gee because of the irony it provides as you practically know Aaryanna is going to do some horrible well beyond Fa-teen, and it would seem funnier rather than getting Lady X out. My two cents.

How many of us are actually using our soul for something useful anyway? As for the soul eating comment itself, there are ways that may let you keep your soul, but you would have to one, know what said ways are, and two, be able to pull them off, and have a mind shield or something so she wont know. But really, how hard is it to dispel a mind shield?

I dunno about dispelling a mind shield, but it would be really obvious if you had one.  I mean, she'd try to read your thoughts, find out that she couldn't, and voila, she knows you're using a mind shield.

In the world of DMFA, if you don't have a soul, you aren't sentient.  There's some confusion as to whether a body robbed of its soul would still breathe like a Fae Hollow, but at the end of the day, that's largely academic since it looks like the soul is the most important bit.

Depends on the quality of the shield.

A cheap one would block most stuff, not very well. A reasonable one would block everything. A really high quality one would fake some innocuous thoughts on the outside, so that people wouldn't be able to tell you had one up at all.

My 2p, anyway.

Good `cubi could probably differentiate genuine inane blather from a rhubarb or walla, though.  I have an idea rumbling around my head about a magic system where part of the training involves learning how to use steganography in your inner monologue, just to keep people from reading your mind.

After all, if you read someone's mind, and he's thinking ``I'm gonna hit your gregory with my plates,'' your opponent probably will be just as much in the dark before you read it.

Does this really come as a surprise, considering all the relevant DeviantArt stamps I have in my journal? :B

Best part of it is that since my avatar is a Cubi, I don't have to worry about that pesky soul-stealing! Whee!

Oh, but Amber's art is lovely. Aside from the initial smex of the image, the art is impressive. I love Aaryanna's posture, the dress design, and the whip coiled around her hand.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that there is BDSM directed to and from all genders, and I would think that the best business model for this genre would be to have a ``select sexuality'' choice at the beginning.

yes boxy. all games need players otherwise there is no justification for their existence.

My apologies, Spanky. I wasn't clear. I meant a "player", not just a player. And I wasn't querying the existence of the player of games, but offering an answer...

This installment hasn't made me like Aaryanna any more.  What else is new.

Then Gee showed up and I LOL'd.  (It helps that my mind's been on Mab's Land lately... and now that I think about it, a different short, fuzzy, black-and-white female character... and then I imagined Boko in Gee's position and resumed laughing.)

Player is a slang used in the USA (generally a 'low-class' term) to refer to a guy who dates and sleeps with lots of girls.  It is generally seen to be a positive when guys call each other a player, but a female who does such things would be called a "whore", and it tends to not be acceptable for this gender.

I wasn't actually being serious, but - at the risk of a thread tangent - are you certain of this?  What if, hypothetically, if I were to post something that was was illegal in the US but not in the UK?  For example, something that violated a software patent, or an encryption algorithm, or something that was out-of-copyright here)?  Yes, the rules forbid it, but from a legal point of view, the offending material would exist in a database physically located in the US.

It could be that two different people are playing the game, with the boy looking at the girls, and the girl looking at the boys.  It could also be from the viewpoint of a game tester, who would expect to try out all the options.  Just saying that there could be an innocent explanation.

Of course, with Aaryanna, innocent is a word that somehow refuses to come to mind.  Anybody out there have a copy of Leather Goddesses of Phobos.  I never played it, but I suspect that Aaryanna would enjoy a copy.

I am reminded of the old Mae West quote:  "When I'm good, I'm very, very good.  When I'm bad, I'm better."

By the way, what I expect she looks for in a date is durability.  It's no fun if they break too soon.

I would venture to guess because it is dry, hot, high salt, and poor soil.  It takes far too much irrigation to make semi-arid soil productive and high desert soil is really poor.

now on a tangent....

I ache for the touch of your lips, dear
But much more for the touch of your whips, dear
You can raise welts like nobody else
As we dance to the masochism tango

Let our love be a flame, not an ember
Say it's me that you want to dismember
Blacken my eye, set fire to my tie
As we dance to the masochism tango

At your command before you here I stand
My heart is in my hand - yecch
It's here that I must be
My heart entreats, just hear those savage beats
And go put on your cleats and come and trample me

Your heart is hard as stone or mahogany
That's why I'm in such exquisite agony
My soul is on fire, it's aflame with desire
Which is why I perspire when we tango

You caught my nose
In your left castanet, love
I can feel the pain yet, love
Ev'ry time I hear drums
And I envy the rose
That you held in your teeth, love
With the thorns underneath, love
Sticking into your gums

Your eyes cast a spell that bewitches
The last time I needed twenty stitches
To sew up the gash that you made with your lash
As we danced to the masochism tango

Bash in my brain and make me scream with pain
Then kick me once again and say we'll never part
I know too well I'm underneath your spell
So, Darling, if you smell something burning, it's my heart
Hic! Excuse me

Take your cigarette from its holder
And burn your initials in my shoulder
Fracture my spine and swear that you're mine
As we dance to the maso-chism tango

From your dainty fingertips.

My joy would be complete, dear,
If you were only here,
But still I keep your hand

For now each time I kiss it

It's one of my favorite comedy songs... you get the strangest looks when as a group you start singing it in inappropriate places.  one of my best frinds and I started to dance in the mall while we sang it... it saw so much fun...

almost as much fun as when we restocked some of the shelves in walmart when no one was looking... replacing the toothpaste with ky jelly.  and that lovely scene we set up with micky and minnie mouse.  Micky had wine and roses... and behind his back a kingsize pack of trojens

Yesterday's high probably didn't reach up to freezing, here. Today maybe up to 15-20°F, now down to 7°F, though we don't expect 0° yet by morning, Lake of the Woods is now frozen over. If you wait another month or so for it to thicken up, we could go fishing.

We have snow on the ground here in NJ today.

When we get accumulating snow before Thanksgiving, it's gonna be a bad winter.   :<
We've had an inch on the ground for a few days. We don't get a lot right here, but what we do get usually stays a while. And usually too dry and fluffy to do anything with it (snowballs, snowmen, etc).

Probably the effect of the bustier she's wearing.

Well, that and being a shape-shifter, of course...

I've also been noticing a little tuft of fur on the center of her chest. Actually, most of the characters seem to have it these days, at least when they appear bare chested. I wonder what, if anything, it's supposed to signify.

And the devil in a black dress watches over,
My guardian angel walks away.
Life is short and love is always over in the morning,
Black wind come carry me far away.
With the sunlight died and the night above me,
With a gun for a lover and a shot for the pain inside.
You run for cover in the temple of love,
You run for another, it's all the same,
For the wind will blow and throw your walls aside.

... what, no Sisters of Mercy fans? Those lyrics are what this comic reminded me off at first glance :P

On a side note, Ink needs one of these XD

At least two more, but I must admit I didn't make that connection myself.

I was taking a look at the picture and taking some measurements of the whip.  It seems to be too long for "close up and personal" interaction.  She might be carrying both a whip and a length of silk cord for either asphyxiation or binding.

Also, remember that she is a professor of pain and terror (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_594.php).  She might be preparing her lesson plans and considering who to use as a demonstration subject.

Well, of course.  You can't get a short whip up to cracking speed.

[google google]

...there are Youtube howto videos on whipping!?  FYI, the one I found is NSFW, even though it probably doesn't violate the Youtube TOS.  In fact, the guy who narrates the thing looks a bit like Bob Ross if he went gray.

You're from New Jersey too?
This morning, when I was leaving my history class, it was snowing.
Nothing stuck, but it was still kinda nice.

More specifically, the most appropriate is probably this (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_516.php).
And maybe this (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Ab_024.php) for good measure >:3
EDIT: Nevermind. She points out in the next strip that's not the case... :animesweat

"They're everywhere, in the windows, in my hair, everywhere I tell you! They watch they creep they plot they plan he he he he he! The butterflies, so innocent and yet so EVIL, they're trying to get me they're trying to get me they're trying to get me!"
