I am so much older than I can take

Marissa sat down heavily on the bed in the room that was apparently hers, "does this mean I'm destined to be mental tech support for the entire universe?"  The vixen spoke to no one in particular as everyone had pretty much left her to her own devices.

Taking a deep breath and using what she remembered of the meditative exercises she practiced during martial arts training as a kit, she cleared her mind and relaxed.  With a steely gaze of determination and sticking her tongue out (lots of concentration) she swept her right hand from her left shoulder to her right side, "Let's research!"

Dozens of holographic, semi-transparent windows appeared in front of her displaying dozens of different topics.  Reaching deep within herself, she pulled some previously submerged talent for speed reading and multi-tasking comprehension.  Data flew by as she processed at computer speeds.

~~~~~~~
Aaron found himself running into Loki and Ixiah who were being pushed along by a stern looking Alexis.  Richard was with them practicing his stoic and resolute slavic disposition as he led an unfamiliar looking being who resembled a type of ancient reptilian.
"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"
And my affection, well, it comes and goes
Aaron was actually quite surprised that Marissa was not following.  Though given his own state he should not have surprised that she stayed in her room.  He was going to shower.  For days.  But not before he confronts this reptilian fellow.  Alexis, Loki, Ixiah and Richard were all familiar.  The reptilian was new.  Aaron looked him over with his now much lighter ice blue eyes.  Those who had seen him before may also notice that his fur was now a bit less drab grey and a bit more dark blue.
"Hello Alexis, Loki, Ixiah, Richard.  And new person.  I've not seen you before.  Did you come with the ship or were you picked up on the planet?  Well, I suppose if you came with the ship you must have been picked up on the planet at some point.  But beside the point."  Aaron was also psionically poking at Zhildar's brain.  It seemed a lot more natural to do such a thing then it had been even just an hour before now.
Sleepy Pile of Snuggles
While Saioko moved to relax, Knight had been just a half-step ahead of her.  Removing the his uniform's shirt and boots before her.  He slipped under the feline as she moved to relax, and pulled her into a snuggle-hug.  Nuzzling into the back of her head with a gentle sigh, he replied slowly and thoughtfully.  "It's tough to tell when we rule our emotions, or they rule us.  The ones who we look forward to can influence our moods at the drop of a hat.  A reminder of being loved never hurts. And, when it's someone we care about, doubly so."
Fingertips idly tapping her tummy while strong arms held her close against him, "You think you're gonna be okay now, or would you prefer to just stay like this for a little while?"  His voice teased as did his arms as he snuggled closer.
As the two scamps were herded from the room La'orth and Richard shared a long, understanding look.
"You are supposed to be...?"  La'orth began.
"I was supposed to be."  Richard finished.
After another moment Richard shrugged.  La'orth tapped out a code to the VI of his fighter to secure it before following Richard out of the hangar.
It did not take long for La'orth to get lost in examining every detail of the ship that he could in passing.  He wanted desperately to simply wander the hallways and marvel at the architecture.  He wanted to feel the surfaces that looked almost grown rather than forged.  He wanted to poke his head through doorways that they passed because surely each contained some wonder.  If these were Acadians and this was one of their ships, then he was a whelp at a Candy Kiosk.  He didn't even notice Loki and Ixiah casting glances back his way and conspiring amongst themselves.  Coming upon a smokey blue-gray fox was a bit of a surprise.  First, La'orth hadn't expected to run into anyone else at that exact moment, and second, he had almost grown used to outrageously-colored foxes.  This comparatively drab fox was a shocking contrast.
Richard nodded to Aaron as both Loki and Ixiah stood at attention and saluted.
"I am La'orth, D'ral-rank in the Korsinian military.  I am of the family Namulk'nam.  And you are?"
The translator was a tad confusing since it had to overcome La'orth's vocalizations.  Reading his mind was much easier.
La'orth is a mid-ranking military officer from one of sixteen large family groups that make up the Korsinian survivors.  He was on a mission exploring a strange space station in the hopes of salvage to help maintain/expand the Korsinian refugee fleets.  After being flung somewhere he met this glowing obsidian cat-being who 'gifted' him to you.  He hopes to learn what he can here before he returns to his people.  He definitely did not want anyone to know the codes securing his ship, or more importantly, where the star charts for current positions for some Korsinian ships were located.  But these things were on his mind just below his awe at the magnificent and advanced construction of this ship.
"Right, introductions. I'm Aaron. Major Aaron Brown of the Intersteller Space Forces. I'm in charge of this operation." Aaron wasn't about to mention the part where he wasn't quite sure about how command of the ship itself worked.
Aaron was also now in an awkward position of knowing what he hasn't been told. Still, no reason to not be friendly, "So, anything I can help you with?"
"That took more than I thought," Mina mumbled. Noticing Spatz's concern she merely shook her head, "No, I'm fine, just tired. Give me a hand."
Spatz helped Mina to her feet, and noticed that she was using him to keep herself steady, "Mina if you need to rest then maybe you should lay back down."
"No, I'll be fine in a little bit. We should really see about getting in touch with the the Captain of this ship."
Spatz nodded towards Robert's resting form, "What about Robert, shouldn't we be here in case something goes wrong?" This caused Mina to bight back a scornful remark.
"No, he will be fine, he just needs time to sleep. I've told the medical bay to alert me when he wakes up, but other than that we cant do anything more than leave him alone. Now, lets go," Mina said impatiently.
With a resigned sigh, Spatz helped her out of the medical bay and deeper into the ship.
Ixiah thinks for a moment, "oh, I think I'm family Nas-Kan..."
"Don't be silly cousin."  Says Loki with his arms crossed in front of him, "say Aaron, you seem much less gray and more blue."
Ixiah chimed in, "I've always said he was not named appropriately!  Aaron is not brown at all."
Alexis and Richard both nodded in response to Aaron's greeting.  The orange vixen spoke up before the wolf, "joking kits aside, the Hunter... did accept guardianship of this mature Korsinian scout and performed the appropriate Rite of Gifts.  Which would mean we are now responsible for him."  Holding a very scolding finger up in the direction of the two kits, she added, "we cannot keep another sentient as a pet."
Richard rubbed the back of his neck, "I am not so sure about this pet thing, but the two young ones do seem to like him, but I'm afraid this could lead to... as you say, an interstellar incident."
Alexis nodded, "is it appropriate to just call you La'orth?  I'm afraid I really do not have much data, I'm a combat and security construct, not a library system."
Kitty snuggles
Saioko giggled a bit as Eric tapped exposed tummy fuzz, "that tickles."  She stretched slightly and quickly snuggled close to him, pressing his hand between his side and her stomach, "snuggle is good, lets just stay this way for a bit."  She purred and nuzzled into his neck.
All halls lead where one needs to be
The ship, as Mina knew and Spatz would need to find out, subconsciously guided you where you need to be.  As such, the pair of them happened upon Aaron and his small collective committee holding session in the corridor.
"Ah, this is where we need to be."  Mina said out loud and then to Aaron specifically, she sent, I've managed to aid Robert, he should be more amiable when he wakes.  Oi, I'm still dizzy from it all.
"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"
Help me out
Aaron rubbed his forehead, where he got a good look at the coloring of his fur now, still not quite realizing that his eyes also got many shades lighter.  He couldn't help but think that he looked horrendous and made a note to fix that somehow.
Skipping comments on his color he goes straight into the important stuff, "I'm already a walking interstellar incident waiting to happen as is.  Ixiah, Loki, we need to minimize the chance of anything else going horribly wrong."
When he got Mina's message to replied to her, Excellent.  I was hoping that he would not snap.  We should all get some rest soon.  After what happened today we all deserve more of a break then we can afford to take.
La'orth straightened up to address the Major properly.  "Major Aaron Brown it is good to know you.  As capable member of the Korsinian freelance corps I request that I be allowed to serve under you to the best of my ability in exchange for hospitality."
He let out a breath and relaxed a little.  These beings had been friendly enough so far so he didn't think that he would be refused outright.
As Mina and Spatz walked in to view La'orth nodded to Alexis.  "La'orth is my given name.  The rest helps to tell who I am, but it's mostly unused outside official functions."
We hurried, now what?
Benjamin nodded after a moment as it seemed the newcomers were done, "right, alright... Ben Foster, staff sergeant and acting senior NCO.  My team..."
A tawny colored coyote male nodded and spoke up next, "Alex Kiel, sergeant, sniper and second to Staff Sergeant Foster."
A stereotypical colored dalmatian male spoke up next, "Jaice Randou, lance corporal, EOD.  We met on mission"
A male human of light bronze skin tone with black head hair, brown eyes and heavy build was the next to speak, "Harold Aeul, lance corporal, heavy weapons and field medic."
A female snow leopard of typical white fur with brown-black ring spots followed, "Rino Jinguji, lance corporal, I'm computers and information warfare."
The last was a timber wolf female of gray, brown and black coloration, "Cyndi Katsura, lance corporal, communications."
Ben indicated the final four standing in the primary team position, "the first and original group was originally lead by Romulus Darkcloud and I was his second.  Its members now fall under the LT."
Not showing any outward emotion due to the passing of their leader and friend, they embodied the true professional Special Forces character expected.
The first to speak was a male kodiak brown bear, "Donovan 'Wall' Grant, corporal, Heavy Weapons Specialist."
The next was another snow leopard, but this one was male and much larger, "Remus 'Nitro' Archon, specialist, Demolitions Expert."
The dark furred feline male, a panther, followed, "Sheebus 'RC' Thorn, Communications and field medic."
The last was a mono-colored gray wolf male, he smartly replied, "Micheal 'Hacker' Harsen, Computer Expert.  I was on mission with Randou."
The canine staff sergeant took one look over the assembled soldiers and quickly and sharply issued his command, "at ease!  If that is all chief warrant officer, you can bunk your subordinates here and we can go to find the major."
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Alexis scratched her head fur and examined the raptor very deeply, "so you are primarily a fighter pilot.  Well what to do with you I wonder?  We do still have that squad of pilots from the ISF.  Their leader is being a bit antisocial and has been suspended.  Perhaps they can be crewed together, they are all scaled types."
Loki sighed, "not the same, there is something about Korsinians that is so..."
Both kits switched to the most cute, teary, doe-eyed expressions they could muster, "ccuuuuuutttteeeee!"
Richard sighed, "this is going to be a long trip, no?"
Mina paused, "I must admit, there is something rather... endearing about him.  I just can't put a paw on it though."
OOC note: even Aaron can see something in it, a similar fashion to how we view dogs and cats (depending on pet preference).
"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"
ShadesFox
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the blackburner
Aaron sighed quite over dramatically.  Partly because he could see what they they were saying that.  Perhaps if Aaron had seen La'orth before he started to be pried into being awaken...
"Well, it is good to have you on board.  I must also apologize, while I'm in command the Acadians tend to run amok as they please.  Which is strange, since I am rather largish part Acadian.  Back to the topic on hand, familiarizing you with our pilots would probably be the best first step."
Snuggles Are Good
"So, how long do you think it'll take them to notice we're gone?  And do you think they'd actually try and track us here?"
The feline Lt. asked in a bemused tone.  He was warm, relaxed and relatively happy.  He felt wanted and loved, his body oozed with pleasure as she pressed herself against him.  "It's curious, you know.  being the only possible survivors from the old ship.  I mean... with the secrecy we were under, do you think we'll even stand a chance of finding out what happened to the rest of the crew?"
His mind was thoughtful, but there wasn't sadness or despair, more of a morbid curiousity left behind by all the what-ifs of the day.
He idly scritched the back of her head with his free hand.
In response to Alexis' sort-of-a question he added "That's right.  I have training in exploration and cartography, planetary and intra-ship combat, self-suficiency, mechanics and repair, and inter-species relations among other things.  I am primarily a fighter pilot, though I do know a fair share of advanced mathematics."  This last bit he said with a slight sneer while leaning intimidatingly toward the two kits.  For his trouble he recieved a nose beep and barely contained giggles.
Being the polar opposite reaction from what he had expected left him momentarily speechless.  He straightened and inspected his snout, half expecting it to be purple or something.
"Uh, yes.  Let's do that."  He stated hesitantly to Aaron.  "On the way we can discuss what we each expect of eachother in the freelance agreement."  He looked around at each face in turn; Aaron's much put-upon expression, Alexis' decidedly neutral, the kits' overly eager, Mina flashing a grin, and Spatz and Richard looking like they were also feeling out-of-place.  Suddenly La'orth really wanted to be moving, as though that would save him from being surrounded by such weird and garrishly-furred creatures.
            <-- #1 that is!
SquirrelWizard
Spatz shifted uneasily, he was in strange company and they were now talking about some sort of "agreement" which would undoubtedly involve Mina, Robert and him. Robert, who was busy sleeping his fugue off, and Mina who was beginning to lean heavily on his shoulder. A quick glance to her confirmed his suspicions that she was worn out, wearing the shell of a smile to cover it up, "Perhaps we should discuss this over something to eat, and somewhere with chairs? I don't know about you people, but I'm famished."
You know you got to help me out... Yeah *signal lost*
A slight rumble reverberated throughout the ship.  Alexis stopped her forward movement and paused as if someone had paused her video animation.  She spoke briefly, "Aaron I suggest you might wish to head to the bridge, we appear to be under attack."
With that, the vixen did something she rarely has ever done in front of others, she dematerialized into tiny bits of electric blue dust that seemingly melted into the decks and corridors.
An audible alarm, very much like a normal ISF vessel would possess, began to sound.  Matron's voice traveled audibly through the air, Please excuse the alarm, but I though it best to use something you are familiar with.  All personnel, this is a general quarters notification, Aaron please report to the main bridge... and you may as well bring those with you as well.  Captain Natsume please report as well.
Mina's fatigue melted a bit as she took to her own paws, "It does not appear to be the other Acadians we were avoiding back with the pirates, it appears to be someone else and I'm not familiar with the designs."
Snuggles are over
Saioko purred at the scritching, but became a bit more quiet as she answered the question of the rest of the crew, "I... could still access most of my basic sensors for a few minutes after the attack... most of the crew made it to life pods, some... far too many... died.  I think Commander Schaefer may have been one of the casualties, he stayed to evacuate Geoff... I'm not sure what happened."
The feline rolled onto her back, taking Eric's hand she had trapped and nuzzling it before placing it on her midsection with a sigh.  Her purring ended abruptly at the sound of the alarm.
"Duty calls."  She stated as she sprang up and sprinted towards the bridge, hurriedly trying to tuck her shirt back into her skirt.
"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"
Aaron yells back at Matron, "Thanks, makes us feel right at home.  In danger.  In danger at home."
Aaron let out another long and dawn out sigh as he heads up to the bridge.  Just think about going to  the bridge and you will get there.
"Still, something new?  Why does there always have to be something new coming for us?  Any idea if they even can pose a threat?  Well, I suppose they can if the ship rumbled like that, but how realistic of a threat?"
The All Purpose Fox
Bridge
As Aaron and associated tag-alongs reached the bridge, they were greeted by a very active sight of a ship fully in 'battle stations'.  Alexis sat at the conn as if she had always been there and not just a few minutes ago, giving a guided tour of the ship, "I don't see a credible threat, but take a defensive posture anyways."
Matron moved the field of vision to a remote view of their aggressors to show the engagement distance, "they appear to be proximity weaponry and visual targeting to gauge distance as their targeting systems should lack any firing solutions due to my passive ECM.  They do appear to be bringing their 'big guns' online which may be more of a problem eventually."
Mina, Loki and Ixiah filtered past the others and moved to take up positions around the bridge area.
"Oh!  Matron..."  Loki said with an urgent tone, "they are firing a large weapon!  Do a barrel roll!"
"I really don't think that is necessary, Junior."  Replied Matron as the large discharge flashed by, "they are achieving our range though."
Mina, for the benefit of everyone not linked to the network systems, zoomed the display in on the small group of vessels.  The big vessels had very triangular, sloping sides, with designs and hull textures that were very scaly with bright colors in zig-zag patterns.  The smaller ones were similar, but more closely resembled winged reptiles.
To La'orth, these were a hated enemy.  He did not recognize the designs, but the language and symbols were very clearly Vizanzi.
Mother thought for a moment before replying, "leave it to the Vizanzi to shoot first and question later.  They don't recognize this design (note Matron does not have any symbols, lettering, or designs that indicate she is Acadian) and decided they had best start shooting.  I would like to know what they are doing here in force, I doubt they would be hunting us."
"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"
Lisky
As Saioko left Knight considering the position of the crew, he slowly got himself dressed and decided that he should probably set an equally positive example.  He quickly redressed, and rearmed himself, then started focusing on the special forces barracks and training area.  The idea suddenly hit him.  "Matron... if you can hear this... is there any chance you've either A: got an LAM or two laying around in a hanger somewhere? Or B: got enough material to produce one?"
He was walking for the special forces area, but if he could get his hands on a mecha, things would be all the better. Leave the mud slogging to the grunts, I'm a pilot
Hallway to Special Forces area
There was quite the lengthy bit of silence after Knight's query.  About when he was convinced the ship could not hear him, there was an audible reply, "Sorry for the pause, we are a bit busy and it took a bit of searching among Mother's girls' databases for the suitable reference.  I am afraid we do not have one of these Land Air Mechas you are familiar with.  Acadians ceased piloting their own small craft into battle a very long time ago.  Instead they bred other creatures to fight for them and eventually created artificial constructs to fill those roles."
From a side passage, the feline was joined by a glasses wearing, golden vixen dressed as a chief engineer, "we mey na 'av one, but I ken pro'bly find ya parts an' help build it if ya can furnish sum type ah design or reference."
"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"
Aaron stood around, trying to look as important as he could.  He was the Major after all.
"So, are they any sort of real threat?  Or can we just fire randomly in their general direction and make them go away?  I would much rather not kill any of them if it can be avoided."
An unpleasant bunch to be sure, these Vizanzi.  Maybe a sufficiently loud psionic "GO AWAY" would work.
Hallway Plotting
Knight knew the tech-specs for his stealth LAM like the back of his hand.  How it would handle, it's overall size, design and weight specs, based on the best technology available. He started to run through the capablilities in his mind, visualizing the morphing craft, the design of the cockpit, the list of specs, and weapons loadouts.  At this point, if his mind was opened to be read anyways, he might as well make some use of it with their allies.
He suddenly stopped his mental visualizations as he realized something.  Perhaps his mind wasn't quite as clear... he figured he'd ask just in case, "Are the mental images clear enough? If not, perhaps you'd have a tablet handy, and i can start with the performance specs and go from there?"
I would like to see a Matron barrel roll
The image on the viewscreen made him nearly jump as several shots went whizzing passed.  The rather nonchalant reaction from the rest of the crew drew a surprised look around bridge from La'orth.  The Vizanzi were right there shooting at them and these Acadians didn't seem to care.  He thought that he would give anything to possess a level of technology that would make the Vizanzi a non-issue for his people.
He found that he was leaning forward and baring his teeth at the screen; ready to pounce or dodge should the need arise.  Feeling a little foolish, he straightened up and tried to assume a more neutral posture and expression a little behind and to the side of the Major.
"We could blast their engines, grab a few to interrogate, and then leave."  La'orth didn't know if their ship was capable of that, but it was the first thing that popped into his head.  He really couldn't help but bare his teeth a little at the screen; he was hoping that the Major would choose an even more destructive option for the other vessels.
            <-- #1 that is!
"Interrogate them?  For what?  I'm pretty sure I know why they are shooting at us, and on top of that they don't know anything we want to know.  And if we blowup their engines we may as well just outright kill them.  By the way, just to make sure this is obvious, I'm disinterested in killing them.  Actually, on the subject of blowing things up, I'm all for destroying their weapons and targeting arrays and leaving that at that.  Matron, can we do that then get back to chasing down the sphere of harmony?"
The All Purpose Fox
Shachza
La'orth stared at the viewscreen for a moment.  He really wanted to do something about those Vizanzi.  Two things stopped him though; the first was that he was the new guy and he did want to make a good impression, and the second was that he had no idea whether he could figure out the ship's controls.
"Major, you should know that my species is on the losing end of a war with the Vizanzi."
He went back to staring silently at the screen with his hands firmly clenched.
Ixiah considered Aaron's question about the threat the Vizanzi posed and if a psionic dismissal would work, "if we sit here and allow them to hit us as they come to range, then they will eventually do damage.  The overall technology level is superior to the ISF, but not to a level to be overwhelming.  Compared to Acadian technology, not so much.  A psionic message like you are suggesting would be noticed by things we would not want it to be noticed by."
At this point, a somewhat disheveled Saioko entered the bridge did a double take at La'orth, but recovered quickly and took up a tactical spot, "sorry, was catching a nap, but Mother and Matron gave me a status report online."
Alexis considered the commentary between Aaron and La'orth carefully before responding, "these are Que'zal Vizanzi, it may be possible that these do not hold any animosity for your people... we may not wish to judge too early..."
Matron spoke out loud for the benefit of those not able to access the psionic network systems, "it appears that these Vizanzi are hailing us.  Activating one way video."
The creature that appeared before them was a colorful draconian creature very close in appearance to the feathered serpents of human myth.  The colorful rainbow colored feathers and azure scales made the creature seem very exotic.
The speak translators kicked in immediately, overlaying the rough speech, "unknown vessel, this is the *untranslatable*.  We have your range and will begin targeting heavy weapons.  Surrender and prepare to be boarded."
The Vizanzi vessels consisted of a cruiser and four frigates.
Rebecka smiled at the question, "well lad, we 'ave enough images, but a tablet with more statistical data would be handy."
"Right, getting noticed.  That tends to define the start of every bad moment of my life."
Aaron watched to the video, and was thoroughly unamused.  "I'm starting to get the impression that they are not one for displaying kindness.  Send them a message back.  We have no intention of engaging in hostilities.  Let us pass by our way and we won't bother you."
If they start shooting again then shoot off their weapons.  We can do that right?
Seeing as he was on battle station, Knight's first job was to get armored and prep.  He went to where his gear was stowed, and started strapping in, and donning his own personal suit.  With basics in place, he sat down and awaited orders from the command deck.  In the mean time, he picked up a tablet, and began drawing up schematics and performance data on a stealth LAM.  If nothing else, he could certainly play a more effective support role with infantry.
Loki sent across the psionic network communications system, Everyone, I will speak with them.  Their recognition systems should recognize my old identifier code, albeit a bit altered just for this purpose, as far as the Masters' Alliance is concerned.
Loki stood up and assumed the conn from Alexis who stood and attempted to block La'orth's visage from appearing in a front angle video transmission.
Loki gestured to Mina, "open full communications to the Vizanzi vessel."
"okie doki, Loki..."  Replied Mina.
Alexis gave her a quizzical sideways glance (one of those Spock type looks). The maroon vixen smiled sheepishly and shrugged, "sorry, feeling a bit wonky and it just slipped out... I'm a bit mentally taxed right now.  Channel open and onscreen."
"Unidentified Vizanzi vessels, this is the Acadian Research Vessel Vanir and I am Inquisitor Hoenir.  Why have you attacked an Alliance vessel so brazenly?  Be aware that I am fully empowered to enact judgement swiftly if your words do not please the Masters."  Loki figuratively rolled his bluff roll, hoping for a strong success.
The Vizanzi commander showed only the briefest hint of fear as he quickly recovered, his tactical officer was not so disciplined and nearly fainted herself.  The commander measured his words carefully, his tone completely changed, "Inquisitor, we had no idea.  My humblest of apologizes, our zeal shows our dedication to the Masters.  This region of space has been restricted and we have been on patrol for heretics."
Special Forces area
Rebecka quietly observes the professional soldiers perform their duties.
Knight is suited up and ready, at least in his temporary ground commander style role.
Ben approached and gave a quick nod, "everyone is on standby, doubt they will need us unless we are going to breech and capture whatever those ships are out there."  The canine NCO gestured to the monitor indicating the strangely reptilian looking vessels facing off against them.
The golden vixen engineer regarded the screen and turned towards the pair of Special Forces leaders, "that would be a Vizanzi cruiser... Tan'Zaluun class from what Mother's IFF has indicated.  Not a threat to Matron in a fight."
"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"
ShadesFox
Aaron was listening to Loki go on about his deception, wondering if at some point there would be mention of space marines or some such thing.  Still, he wondered where this was leading.  Hopefully somewhere that they could just ignore the rest of these Vizanzi.
Getting back to work on his tablet, Knight continued collecting all the details he could remember about the performance of the stealth LAM he usually piloted.  With a little time and energy, hopefully he could have something that was of similar performance... even a basic LAM would be nice... stealth would be better... but he'd take what he could get.
"Rebecka, any idea how long it'd take to build something like this?  Do we even have the tools appropriate for the repair work? let alone construction?"
