I like her. I've always found comfort in libraries. So quiet and peaceful. And full of books.

True, true- I live in one: shot 1, shot 2, shot 3  :mowwink
Have you even seen the scene in ROD (Read or Die) where the main character wakes up.  At first all you see is bed full of books in a room full of books.  Then you see a hand poke up through the books on the bed followed by the main character.  I had a vision of taking a screen shot of that image so that I could show it to my wife and claim that my room isn't so bad.

Oolong is quite amusing to me greatly even moreso

Hmm...without the dextrous ability in her arms, I wonder if she needs helping changing her clothes and hairstyle. Or maybe she has shape-shifter powers for that.

Also, I always imagine Fa'Lina and Ms. Oolong have a conversation like this:

"Oh, hello there.  I was going to build a magical safe-haven for 'cubi here...um,do you...?"
"Oh, no, it's no problem. You can build me into it."
"Why thank you. How would you like to be, say, a librarian?"
"That would be great!"

Considering what school they're at, some of the text books probably qualify as porn of one sort or another.

"And this position we call "Pruning the Hibiscus!""

A cookie for anyone who gets the reference.

One prunes the Hibiscus to make this stuff.

Then, one puts the Hibiscus in a glass of champagne.

And then...do I really have to explain champagne?  ;)

With regards,

Yeah, but then you just pull out the stasis beam to slow it down and start firing boson darts at it while remembering to vent your pack often, and then wrangling the focus element free once you've worn it down enough. No biggie. Book Golems are a nuisance. Now, those paper demons are a pain.

Ahhh, I enjoyed that game... When I get it back from my manager at work, I think I need to play through it again and get all the missed achievements (save for the online ones.. Darned Silver account)... :D

First game since Mass Effect that I had the "loss of time" syndrome going... I start playing, and before I know it, no fewer than 5 hours have passed.

Oh, and P.S.

*oods of oolong info*

Hm... I wonder... is the "body" a remnant of her mobile juvenile form that allows her to interact and learn and such forth and then just grows into a room or building or something like that? And I presume she writes with her tentacles, since we saw her kinda sorta doing so in the wallpaper?

I get it! Her head and body are like a computer monitor: it's not the computer itself, but it's how you interact with it, and the rest is elsewhere? Kinda like that?

I'm probably an idiot for just noticing, but, does Oolong hide her headwings or something?

Whose Line Is It Anyway. Colin said it in a skit about inappropriate slideshows your neighbors make you watch.

On topic, an interesting observation on Abel's part, and also interesting that there are still no pronouns for Mink. I wonder if Oolong changes colors for any reason other than just personal style/preference.

Don't worry, Amber, I think the second panel where Oolong is shown on this page illustrates some of what you're talking about with the creepy puppet-ness.

Oolong is not a Cubi. She is a Mythos.

Ah, that makes it a little easier to understand, thank you. |3

OminousShadow

If it wouldn't be mean to Amber, I'd ask if she could make a flash animation of Missus Oolong's movements.
97% of teens would cry if they saw Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen from Twilight) standing on top of a skyscraper, about to jump. If you're one of the 3% who would sit there eating popcorn screaming "DO A FLIP, YOU SPARKLY (I am not smart enough to use polite words)!" then copy and paste.

JackTheCubiWolf

Oolong just needs a hug. *hugs a piller in the library*
I'm back, and tired.

Better hope the pillars don't open up to devour those who make her made or don't respect her personal boundaries.

The final issue is mainly one that creeps out Cubi, in that Oolong is emotionally devoid.  And because of that, it feels often like they are talking to a dead thing.  Which, combined with the rabbit-looking appendage that moves much like an undead thing...makes Oolong incredibly creepy to them.

But... but... I think she's drop-dead adorable.  :U

Let the theorycrafting begin!

Oolong <3 Abel, Abel breaks Oolongs hartbooble, Oolong becomes SOUL-LESS MONSTER OF THE LIBRARY and blames Abel for all of it.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I think Oolong looks more attractive in her "dark" phase in the wallpaper.

Why?  Because she looks much more dangerous, and their's nothing more stimulating to a guy than being in constant fear of being devoured/killed/having your soul eaten if you make a single wrong move.  Fear is a wonderful thing to turn a guy into a great listener.

Of course, the revelation of her torso and head being essentially a creepy puppet would be a bit off-putting.

It's not just a puppet thing. Look at it this way: if the puppet thing is like the light on an angler fish... what is it supposed to attract, and why?

Worms are usually the bait, but in this case, the bait is set out to attract the worm! (Bookworm that is.)

Hmm, who would be attracted to a winged bunny girl, who, until becoming a librarian was probably naked?

It's quite possible that she could feed on various beings after the cubi are...finished with them.
