What's with the news paper?  foreshadow foreshadow......

Is Fa'lina going to be staying outside SAIA for two months?  I don't get this one ???

Woohoo! First time-first post :boogie :boogie :boogie

Mr. Akisohida! Just what were you doing hiding under Dan's bed, hmm?

Frizzled tails are better than normal ones. Cause they's fluffeh. :3

QuoteI am the one hiding under your stairs...

Had to be said. Is it just me, or is Fa'lina's bust size increasing? This gonna be Jyrras' ears all over again? It's BOOBZILLA!

Also, a conjecture. If Fa'Lina can predict things better within SAIA, does that mean she's better at predicting what will happen in SAIA or does being there actually enhance her apparant clairvoyence?

Zedd

I thought boobszilla was reseved for Wildy...

Aridas

I think abel's just about to explode. I hope fa'lina's leaving him in peace :3

I wonder what he was about to say before the spiders conveniently cut off his speech?

This goes right with the observations so far, but I'm glad that it's now proper Canon. :)

Fa'Lina didn't really know of Daniel's existence or location. She also didn't see Pyro being at Lost Lake. Or him dating.
Her being in tune with the Academy makes perfect sense, but godlike senses that span the entire world? Nope.

I assume the "two months" refers to the implied question of how long it would take until things become completely unpredictable to her. Right now, Abel is sort of a beacon for Fa'Lina, but his ties to the Academy are cut off for now, so she's sorta losing his signal. Which would explain why she wasn't able to home in on Pyro.

Kinda like a slow Fog of War, so to speak. :P

EDIT: Ha, spotted wallpaper! Told you so! :boogie

What he said.

As for two months, it sounds like the span of time before she cannot predict the future. (Darn you, Ninja Sid!)

Also, she says that she has complete insight and power while at SAIA.  That sounds awful munchkin-y to me.

Unless...  (Seek cover!)

If SAIA is an extension of Fa'Lina herself, it might be possible for Fa'Lina to be able to have power over all of it, and be able to enhance her predictive powers.  Of course, this would make Fa'Lina a Load Bearing Boss, which is generally a Bad Thing.

Meh. It's just another indicator of Fa'Lina's general idiocy to me...

Also, spiders aren't bad. They're cuddly! Right, Charline...?  >:3

I kinda had to think of Pratchett's "Equal Rites", where Granny Weatherwax discovers that the Unseen University has a personality of its own. So (if we boldly apply something like that to DMFA) Fa'Lina might actually tap into the mind of the Academy, so to speak.

No, I don't personally believe in that theory (at least not strongly), it's just something that your post reminded me of, and it's an alternate possibility. Of course, it doesn't properly factor in the whole 2-months business... or other stuff... :/

Sparta? no, you should've taken that right at albuquerque..

Aisha deCabre

Jumping spiders?  Cute?  Not when one flies in your face...   :erk

I LOVE Fa'lina's smirk in the third panel.  Tsk, poor Abel and his spiders...

If Abel's covered in hair, does that mean the spiders are all over him?

I like the scardey-Abel tail in the 3rd panel. :3
Jeez I need to update this thing.

Or in Wyrd Sisters where Granny discovers that the land has a mind of its own.  Funny, he seems to copy himself a lot...

If SAIA doesn't harbor an extension of Fa'Lina's essence and we take Fa'Lina's statement at face value, then that makes Fa'Lina a super-munchkin, even for the Quest-giving guy.

What she said was that the had complete insight and power, not that she had complete insight and power over SAIA, although that would still make her a munchkin, albeit in the same way that Achilles was.

Now it could be that Fa'Lina is not gifted with perfect oracular vision in or out of SAIA; she just thinks that she is.  For example, after she does something, and the future turns out differently than she expects, this feature rewrites her long-term memory such that she remembers having predicted the outcome and a rationalization for her actions is also inserted.  (Sorry, it just sounded like a really neat idea for a Science Fiction novel)

Quote from: Aisha deCabre on January 25, 2007, 09:34:01 PMI LOVE Fa'lina's smirk in the third panel.

It looks less like a smirk, and more like...well, my interpretations start at opium and get less family-friendly from there.

Also: I'd like to be the first to mention Early Edition.

Edit:

Abel is covered in fur.  He only has hair on his head.  Don't make me explain the difference between vellus and terminal hair!

Azlan

There is an artificial distinction usually made for the "fur" on one's head and that on the rest of the body.  Its one of the noticeable human traits in anthropomorphism.
"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"

Roureem Egas

What could ever be going through Fa'Lina's head?  >:3

It's been awhile since anyone's had that devious look in their eyes, makes for a humorous change.

GabrielsThoughts

well amber allready allerted us to the spider problem a while back, so it appears that they've migrated from the basement, at least  the big ones are still down there.

Azlan

Spiders are cool, they are fuzzy and tasty... and they make strange sounds when you scritch them.

Nuuu!!!  You beat me!  And I thought I was updating myself on the various webcomics early tonight!

Cogidubnus

I hate spiders.

Although, I will say I haven't known any personally  :3

Manawolf

I think I've developed slight arachnophobia, at least in real life.  Why?  Tell that to the bite upon my groin.

Zedd

How the spider got down there I will never know...

e_voyager

Ever sense my dream of being on a driver less bus with a red spider chasing me i've been leery of spiders. not exactly afraid of them but respectful enough not to kill them at random

Manawolf

I kill them on sight in my room.  After all, if they are nearby, that means they are within distance to bite me in the night for no apparent reason while they crawl across my body.

I'll get those ****ers, that I will.

Or better,
.
Avondale Spiders.
Nasty looking creatures, with a leg span up to eight inches.

They are also sweet natured, harmless, and the mommy and daddy spiders raise the kids together.

Made famous in the movie Arachniphobia.

The Auld Grump

Manawolf

While I hate spiders in my room (as they will most likely be the ones biting me in the night), I hate all these horror movies that demonize animals.  **** the animals, I'd like to see some actual demons, and ones that aren't so weak they have to prey on defenseless teenagers.

Seriously Hollywood, let's try for something with an actual good original story to it.

Quoted For Truth.

Also, I would like to see a horror movie that the only people who survived were the ones who had sex.
Double points if it was in an orgy.
Triple if they smoked and had a few beers afterwards.

...

Ok, so it sounds like a porno, but damn it.... iI'm tired of this sex=death crap.

(Although if that applied to real life I would live FOREVER)

*edit for language and using life and live in the wrong places.

Manawolf

Meh, would be cool to see a cubi in action, though.  The whole transformation midway and then soulsucking upon orgasm.  Double points for the guy still going out with a smile.
